Filming ceased in Montana in June 2021.
The film was released in select theaters on January 14, 2022 and on Demand on January 14, 2022. It was also released on DVD and Bluray on February 22, 2022.
The review site Rotten Tomatoes shows that 19% of 36 reviews have been positive. This average rating is 3.7/10. Metacritic uses a weighted score to assign the film a score out of 100. It is based on six critics and indicates “generally unfavorable” reviews.
Forbes’ Angela Dawson gave the film a positive evaluation and wrote, “Spanish Filmmaker Luis Prieto Balances Inequality And Chills in ‘Shattered’ Thriller.” Variety’s Michael Nordine gave the film a negative evaluation and said, “What follows has shades from Misery to Audition. However, it lacks any of either film’s bravado.”
RogerEbert.com’s Matt Zoller Seitz gave the film one-and-a-half stars. He called it “a machine which promises to fulfil certain functions.” The craftsmanship is poor.
